Waiting on Wednesday (19)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme to discuss upcoming books we can't wait to get our hands on. Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This week I am waiting on:

Blameless by Gail Carriger
Publication date: September 1, 2010

I love the Parasol Protectorate series and since Changeless ended on a cliffhanger of sorts I can't wait to read Blameless. I would caution you not to read the book description of Blameless until you've read Changeless because it includes major spoilers. Alexia Tarabotti is one of my favorite characters. She is intelligent, brave, and she has a great wit. If you are unfamiliar with this series, check out my review of Soulless.

What are you waiting on this week?

  2. I have been waiting for several months for "One Was a Soldier," by Julia Spencer-Fleming -- and just found out a few weeks ago that I guess she missed her deadline so the book that was supposed to come out in April won't come out until next year! I am so sad. That's a really long time to wait for something you thought was already out.

Currently, I'm easing my pain with a good thriller/mystery/suspense novel, Rogues, Riches and Retribution by Harry Taylor. You start out with 7-year-old twins witnessing the death of their father who's mown done by a reckless driver. One twin is chosen by Mafia leaders to avenge the death -- then he grows up and falls in love with the driver's adopted daughter. You have double-dealing, revenge, love, hate, and plans for death. It's quite enjoyable -- somehow different from the normal, run-of-the-mill murder stories.
