Teaser Tuesdays (10)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read

Open to a random page

Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I am currently reading two books so I am going to share teasers from both of them.

My teasers:

Jane Slayre by Charlotte Bronte and Sherri Browning Erwin
p. 174

"I thought of the many Christmases I had been left out and left alone at Gateshead, and well for it considering how the Reeds preferred to celebrate: by eating all their friends. Having visitors was no holiday for me."

Jane Slayre combines the original text of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte with the paranormal  as our heroine Jane Slayre does her best to rid the world of vampyres, zombies, and werewolves. I didn't think I would like this but the author does a really good job with the novel so it has the same tone as Jane Eyre with a little bit of humor thrown in.

The Anonymous Bride by Vickie McDonough
p.161-162

"Shoot, three brides coming to marry one man was probably the hottest news they had all year. No wonder they were curious."

Luke Davis finds himself in a quandary when his cousins decide he needs to get married and take it upon themselves to place an ad for mail order brides. What will he do when three ladies show up claiming he promised to marry them when he still can't get over Rachel, the only woman he's ever loved?

  1. All of these new books that are changing the classics into paranormals look funny. But I'm afraid that they'll be too corny, so I'm afraid to pick them up. Here's my TT.
