Friday Finds (2)

Friday Finds are books that you've heard about during the past week. Friday Finds is hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading.

My finds this week:

Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart
By Beth Patillo

While presenting a paper at Oxford, Claire Prescott comes across a supposed earlier version of Pride and Prejudice where Elizabeth Bennet does not end up with Mr. Darcy. She also meets a handsome stranger who makes her question her relationship with her boyfriend Neil.

The Queen's Dollmaker
By Christine Trent

Claudette Laurent is a young dollmaker whose talent has caught the attention of Marie Antoinette. Unfortunately for her, this new friendship puts her in the dangerous path of the French Revolution. Thanks to Enchanted by Josephine for this find!

Romancing Miss Bronte
By Juliet Gael

A fictional look at the life of Charlotte Bronte and her own chance to find love. Thank you Bookfan for this find!

Saving Maddie
By Varian Johnson

Joshua Wynn is the well-behaved teenage son of a preacher. When his childhood crush, daughter of the former associate pastor returns, his resolve is tested. Maddie is as wild as he is "good". Joshua is conflicted by his feelings for Maddie and his desire to help her change, but does she really need to? Thanks to LizB of A Chair, A Fireplace, & A Tea Cozy for this find!

Letters to Juliet
By Lise Friedman and Ceil Friedman

The upcoming film Letters to Juliet is based on this nonfiction book about the city of Verona, Italy, the letters that have been sent to Juliet for decades, and the people who answer them.

The Secret History of the Pink Carnation
By Lauren Willig

The Pink Carnation is an early 19th Century fictional spy like The Scarlet Pimpernal but no one has been able to discover the identity of The Pink Carnation until now.
