It's Monday, What Are You Reading (62)

It's Monday What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. I always enjoy seeing what other people have read and reviewed over the past week. It is also a great way to find new books to add to that ever-growing TBR list!

I currently feel overwhelmed by the stack of library books and books for review that I need to read and I keep seeing books I want to get.  I decided to set aside Eon: Dragoneye Reborn so I could read my library and review books instead. I wish I could take a one week reading vacation to get caught up!

Please check out my post on Childhood Favorites where I share some of my favorite books from my childhood and teen years.

Books finished:

The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross

This was good but could have been better. I think I might become a fan of steampunk after all.

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

I was pleasantly surprised by Unearthly. I do wish there hadn't been any hint of love triangle but otherwise it is the best angel paranormal romance I've read.

Books reviewed:

Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton

Currently reading:

Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris

I used to really enjoy this series. Now I sometimes feel like I'm just reading out of loyalty. So far this is better than Dead in the Family though.

Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn

This is a spin off from the Bridgerton series which I haven't read. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but it is funny.

What I plan to read next:

Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn

I will read this book next. I don't care what other goodies may come in the mail this week or to the library. I simply must read this book! Then I need to read books three and four so I can read the ARC of The Dark Enquiry.

The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley

This is another one that I've had checked out for weeks and need to read. I have a feeling I will like it more than Mariana although that was a good book too.

Clarity by Kim Harrington

I've had this checked out for a long time and have decided that if I don't start reading it by next week, it is going back to the library. I do like suspense and though this has a paranormal element to it, I liked The Body Finder and used to love Lois Duncan's similar novels as a teen.

  1. PR hasn't been doing anything for me for a while, but I have heard such amazing things about Unearthly that I'm pretty convinced that it will be at least promising! Ahhh tis the question. I'm still deciding what to read next between Forgotten and Die For Me =)

  3. Oh wow, I didn't realize Raybourn was coming out with a fifth Lady Julia novel already. I haven't read the fourth one yet, but now that I know about the next one, I'm going to push this all up on my reading schedule! Thank you :)

I also really enjoyed Unearthly and was surprised by it. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

  6. I am feeling quite swamped myself with books atm. I sometimes apply for books that I do want to read at that time, but when I finally get to it, I have seen a ton of different ones already. I try to read one review book and then one book I actually want to read at that point in time.

  7. Keen to see what you think of Clarity and I loved Unearthly! Totally relate to the overwhelmed feeling, I can't keep up with my review books but I still keep saying yes *sigh* ... it's a sickness!
I think I'm up to book 7 in the Sookie series so I must get caught up. Anyway have a great week and happy reading and getting caught up :)

  9. Thanks for your visit and comment. :) I've got both Girl in the Steel Corset and Unearthly on my TBR list. I might have to see if my local library has plans for getting either of them for their collection. Clarity sounds interesting, as well! Off to search the catalog. Have a great day!

  12. I wanted to read Steel Corset, but then Galley Grab came and I downloaded like 4 books and I'm kind of swamped hehe. I liked Unearthly too, I actually thought the triangle made sense in this story unfortunately there's an overflow of them in YA lit :/
