In My Mailbox (49)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren to share what books you received for review, purchased, or checked out from the library during the past week.

Books I'm most excited about: The Shadowy Horses and Mariana by Susanna Kearsley

For review:

Lily of the Nile by Stephanie Dray

Stephanie Dray sent me a signed ARC of her new book for review along with a bookmark and an Ankh pendant! I loved Michelle Moran's Cleopatra's Daughter so I am eager to read this. Plus it looks like it has a little bit of a supernatural Egyptian take on the story. Thanks Stephanie!

From the library:

Mariana by Susanna Kearsley

This book is currently out of print in the States but I was able to get it from my library. I love this new cover so I thought I'd use it instead of the version I have.

The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley

According to Susanna Kearsley's website, she is going to be writing a book featuring a character from this book and from The Winter Sea, which I loved, so I knew I had to pick up The Shadowy Horses from the library (also out of print in the States). It sounds fantastic!

A Cup of Friendship by Deborah Rodriguez

I just love the premise of this book and the setting made me want to order it for my library.

The Lady Most Likely by Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, and Connie Brockway

I have become a fan of Julia Quinn after reading What Happens in London and Ten Things I Love About You. I hope I will enjoy this collection of short stories just as much. I've heard good things about Eloisa James from one of my coworkers at the library.

Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I've had this on my TBR list since last year and when I saw it at the library I decided it was time to give it a try!

Scrambled Eggs at Midnight by Brad Barkley and Heather Hepler

I first heard of this book through Amelia at Imagination in Focus. It sounds like a fun story and the cover is really cute.

  8. Lily of the Nile was really good! It has some cool magical aspects that seem to fit the story well so it all seems like it 'could' have been like that. I hope you love it!
