It's Monday What Are You Reading? is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. I always enjoy seeing what other people have read and reviewed over the past week. It is also a great way to find new books to add to that ever-growing TBR list!
Favorite book read this week: Ten Miles Past Normal by Frances O'Roark Dowell
Books finished:
Deadly Little Games by Laurie Faria Stolarz
This series reminds me of my favorite kind of YA book when I was a teen-suspense fiction with just a little bit of the supernatural/paranormal like some of Lois Duncan and Christopher Pike's novels. Deadly Little Games was an edge of my seat kind of read even though I figured out who the "bad guy" was pretty quickly.
The Sari Shop Widow by Shobhan Bantwal
I liked this one so much more than The Dowry Bride. I was in the mood for chick lit and The Sari Shop Widow fit the bill. I enjoyed the descriptions of the clothing and the Indian food. It reminded me of shops I'd been to in Toronto's Little India.
Ten Miles Past Normal by Frances O'Roark Dowell
Ten Miles Past Normal is such a fun book. It will be published on March 22nd and I highly recommend it to fans of contemporary YA fiction. The writing style is reminiscent of Catherine Gilbert Murdock, Wendelin van Draanen, or Julie Halpern. Janie is a great relatable character and I'd have wanted to be her friend when I was a teen!
The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa
Seer of Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier
Currently reading:
Out for Blood by Alyxandra Harvey
What I might read next:
The Latte Rebellion by Sarah Jamila Stevenson
Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
I am about half way thru Secrets of Harmony Grove. You can see my review by the end of the week if not sooner at my blog http:cathysreadinglist.blogspotcom
ReplyDeleteI think you might like this if you like mysteries and a little Amish culture.
Happy Reading

I turned in my children's book project today. The reading I did for it last week accounts for almost a third of my list. Come see what I read.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise The Sari Shop is chick-lit. I love chick-lit every now and then so this is one to look out for - it seems a bit different from normal chick lit.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week! Looks like you have lots of good books to choose from.
