The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books 6.0 team
I decided to participate in this read-a-thon because I've participated in the past and I can't resist read-a-thons but also because I haven't spent much time reading lately and when I have, I have felt pressure to complete books for review or reading challenges, etc. I am hoping that this read-a-thon will encourage me to spend less time surfing the Internet and more time reading and enjoying the experience.
My goals for the read-a-thon:
Finish reading my current book Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
Read one or two books from start to finish
Read at least two chapters of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Read 1-2 chapters of The Christian World of the Hobbit by Devin Wilkerson
I know how you feel. I haven't been reading lately, too, that's why I signed up for this read-a-thon, as well as 2 read-a-longs this month, and yeah, who can resist a read-a-thon ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll complete your goals & have fun!
Happy reading!
I can't resist a readathon either! I signed up for this one as well, even though I'll be busy all this week and the weekend as well, but they're just too fun to pass up. ;) You've got some really realistic goals though, and I hope you'll be able to achieve them! Touch of Power looks really fabulous, and it's so neat that you're actually reading the book Les Miserables.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, and happy reading Christina! <3
