Waiting on Wednesday (94)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme to discuss upcoming books we can't wait to get our hands on. Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

This week, I'm waiting on:

Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier
Release date: October 30, 2012

Gwen’s life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.
At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.

I loved Ruby Red and I am looking forward to this sequel though I have to admit that I am not happy about the cover change (this cover is pretty but it won't match my copy of Ruby Red) and I am concerned about the whole Gideon hot/cold treatment. Still, I am hopeful that I will enjoy this book anyway.

  1. That cover totally screamed at me to read it. Awesome pick! :D

    Drop by my WoW?

  2. Gorgeous cover and blurb...thanks for sharing.

    Here's MY WOW POST

  3. I have been meaning to read Ruby Red- I had no idea that there was a sequel coming out. I agree- not sure how I feel about that cover... Thanks for sharing this one!

  4. I haven't read Ruby Red yet, but I've heard so many good things about it and I really like the new covers.

  5. I love the dress but I remember the old cover and it would totally bother me that these don't match. I think this makes it seem more like a romantic paranormal than anything else.

  6. It really does look like a good book- one I will definitely check out once it is released. In the meantime, if anyone is looking for a great historical romance, check out "The Romanov Stone" by Robert C. Yeager- full of mystery and intrigue.

  7. OH, yes---I really enjoyed Ruby Red and can't wait for book 2!

  8. Oooh, I didn't know this was a Ruby Red sequel! I think I should pick that up now.

    Great pick!
