It's Monday, What Are You Reading (109)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.

Books read:

Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn (reread)

It was fun rereading this by listening to the audio book.  I hadn't read it in so many years that I didn't remember some of what happened and it was almost like reading the book for the first time. I hope they release the rest of the books in the trilogy on unabridged audio.

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (reread)

This book was even better the second time around (and I liked Adrian even more). That is one of the things I like about Richelle Mead's YA books. They are fun to reread.

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

This is an excellent sequel to Bloodlines and it definitely brought the romance for those who missed that element in Bloodlines

Books reviewed:

Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins

Currently reading:

The Descendants by Kaui Hart Hemmings

This is a book for my book discussion group. I've seen the movie and I really liked it so I'm hopeful that I'll like the book too.

What I plan to read next:

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

This is another book discussion book but I will be rereading it. I first read it in 2009 and don't remember much of it.

The Queen's Lady by Eve Edwards

I am probably being optimistic by putting this on my list but I do want to read The Queen's Lady soon.

  1. Enjoy the Descendants. I totally want to try it on audio.

  2. I have got to get to The Golden Lily this week. I really liked Bloodlines. Have a great week!

  3. Your last two books caught my eye! enjoy them all.

  4. I wonder hot the Descendants will be in book format. I watched the movie... it was different.:)

  5. Oh, I loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society; I made my mom and grandma read it and they liked it as well. The main thing I remember though is (from the early pages so not a spoiler for anyone) that the main character dumps her boyfriend after he moves her books and treats them like they're unimportant-I thought, "I would so do that!"

  6. I'm planning on picking up The Descendents next time I go to the DVD store

Wishing you a great reading week!

  7. The Descendants looks like a great read. I'll have to read it after I watch the movie :)
    Happy Reading!
    Here's my It's Monday! post :)

  8. I have the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on my TBR. My favorite read last week was Body and Soul by Stacey Kade. Please come see what else I'm reading.

  9. I enjoyed the Descendants movie too. I listened to Guernsey on audio and it was brilliant, one of my favourite reads!
Bloodlines is on my very high TBR mountain but I do love Richelle Mead's writing so hopefully I'll get to it soon.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading :)

  10. I loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - I've read it twice already and will probably read it again one day soon!

I'm intrigued by The Queen's Lady. I've never heard of Eve Edwards - will have to check her out!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

  12. OH! "Heir to the Empire" is one of my favorite books ever! The 20th Anniversary Edition was so fascinating, with all of the footnotes and extra stuff! I get super excited when I see people reading (or rereading) it!

I've heard good things about "The Queen's Lady", can't wait to see what you think of it!

  13. Good reading selections this week! I hope you enjoy them all and can fit The Queen's Lady in! :)

    Happy Reading!
