I haven't had much time to blog lately and am visiting my parents for the long holiday weekend. Happy 4th of July to my American readers!
Books read:
Divergent by Veronica Roth
My favorite book of 2011 so far! Amazing! I can't believe I wasn't going to read this at first. I would have missed out on a fantastic reading experience.
Dolci di Love by Sarah-Kate Lynch
I loved that this was set in Italy. It was fun but not as good as it could have been.
Dark Road to Darjeeling by Deanna Raybourn
I really love this series. I think the books just get better and better.

Currently reading:
The Dark Enquiry by Deanna Raybourn
I am enjoying this mystery so far. Julia is a riot, especially when she thinks she can pull one over on Brisbane. It is cute that she keeps trying anyway :)
What I might read next:
I am a big fan of Sarah Dessen so I am sure I will like this one. I am intrigued by the idea of a character who keeps reinventing herself. I think eventually it will catch up to her.
Heartless by Gail Carriger
This is one of my favorite series so I will make every effort to read this one right away! Such a funny and intelligent heroine.
Shine, Coconut Moon by Neesha Meminger
The Girl in the Garden by Kamala Nair
This sounds really promising. It is set in India and inspired by The Secret Garden, one of my childhood favorites.
So that is what my week looks like.
What have you been reading?
I've been reading a couple of steampunk graphic novels and now that you remind me of the Gail Carriger series I may check it out since I'm in the mood~
ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked Divergent because I have it on my stack to read too. Heartless is on my radar for next week also along with some review books. My Monday Report is here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have to check out Divergent - I like the look.
ReplyDeleteI'll be reading Blameless this month ... then on to Heartless.
Happy reading!
Dolci di Love by Sarah-Kate Lynch sounds like fun - I am kind of sad to hear that it's not as good as it could be. I have the first 2 books in the Deanna Raybourn series. Can't wait to read them!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Divergent everywhere. I guess I need to buy it.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Monday Morning Update

I have just taken note of the last one. I loved the secret garden. It was one of my favourites growing up. Used to read it over and over again and never tired of it. I have also been reading and enjoying books based in India recently so that's another reason for me to take note. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteGreat line-up of titles, can't wait to read Divergent and I've also got What happened To Goodybe on my bookshelf. Have a lovely time with your family and happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad that Dolci di Love was not better...it looked good.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday and enjoy your reading.
