It's Monday, What Are You Reading is a fun weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey where we share what we've read and reviewed over the past week and what we plan to read next.
I unfortunately didn't write any reviews this past week though I did finish two books. I am nearly done with my class so maybe next week I'll do better.
Books read:
Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel
I thought this book was excellent and it will definitely have a spot on my list of favorites for 2011.
Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith
Unfortunately though the book has been compared to Perfect Chemistry and books by John Green, Kiss Crush Collide didn't really live up to the hype for me.
Currently reading:
Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie
I started reading this as part of an assignment for my class (learning how to "read" a book in 10 minutes-you read the first and last chapter and then some of the pages in between to get a feel for the style of the book) and I liked it so much I just kept going. It is my first Jennifer Crusie novel.
What I plan to read next:
Cleopatra's Moon by Vicky Alvear Shecter
This is the last time this book is going to appear on my list of planned reads. If I don't finish it this week I am sending it back to the library it came from and I will order it again some other time!
Lovetorn by Kavita Daswani
I will be reading this for an ARC tour. It hasn't arrived yet but it should later this week. I like that it takes on the whole idea of arranged marriages and the contrast of life in India vs. America for a teenage girl.
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
I am looking forward to reading this and hopefully I will get to it soon. It sounds like the kind of book that would make a good movie.
I'm glad you liked Dearly Departed because I have it on my TBR stack and was a little leary of it. Bet Me is one of Jennifer Crusie's best. I'm glad you are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteMy Monday Report is here. Happy reading.
