I'm a big fan of the Parasol Protectorate series so I was excited to have the opportunity to review this YA book set in the same world.

Golden by Jessi Kirby

I loved Moonglass and this book sounds like a great YA contemporary novel too. 

The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler

I know we shouldn't judge books by their covers but I absolutely love this one! I also liked Ockler's Twenty Boy Summer a lot so I'm hopeful the story will be as great as the cover.

Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella

I am super excited about this one. I am a big big fan of Sophie Kinsella and I plan to read this next month as soon as I can. Now she just needs to write another Becky Bloomwood book...

A Spear of Summer Grass by Deanna Raybourn

It may not be a Victorian mystery like her Julia Grey books but I am looking forward to starting A Spear of Summer Grass. I like that it is set in Kenya in the 1920s.

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

I am excited for this debut novel after reading the prequel novella. It is being compared to The Bourne Identity so I think it will be a lot of suspense...and fun.

Maid of Secrets by Jennifer McGowan

I like reading Tudor fiction and reading books with spies so this sounds like a win-win for me!

How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski

I usually like road trip novels so I'm optimistic that I will enjoy this story. 

Thorn Abbey by Nancy Olin

This is a modern retelling of Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier for teens. I am really intrigued...

A Moment Comes by Jennifer Bradbury

I've already read this YA historical novel set in India and I loved it! Very different from the other book I read by the author (Wrapped) which was equally good in its own way.

Chantress by Amy Butler Greenfield

This is a YA debut that I was really interested in because of the combination of history and magic.

Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson

This is a YA retelling of the Bluebeard fairy tale and I think it sounds really promising! The description on Edelweiss says it will appeal to fans of Jane Austen and Downton Abbey (that's me!) and it is set in the South before the Civil War.

Do you use Edelweiss? If you are a book blogger willing to read e-ARCs, you should definitely check it out! In addition to reviewing the e-ARCs they offer, I like to post reviews for other books they have listed in their catalogs so publishers get more feedback. I also like to see what other people thought of books I'm interested in purchasing for the library or reading for myself.

I was so excited when I got A Breath of Eyre in the mail yesterday from Kensington Books. I love Jane Eyre and the idea of a modern girl winding up in Jane's place really appeals to me.

This sort of reminds me of the Gallagher Girls series which I love. Hopefully A Girl Named Digit will be just as good. I have to admit that I'm not too crazy about the title though the cover is fun.

I saw this in a webinar and thought it looked interesting because it combines dystopian fiction with the whole princess/royalty thing. 

The Boy Recession sounds like it could be hilariously funny. I like the idea of the geeky guy suddenly becoming center of attention because of the lack of competition.

Purchased:

I was reading my library copy of this book and realized that I liked it so much that I wanted to own my own copy. I am supposed to be on a book buying ban but I am not very good at it. 

I have been wanting to read this for awhile now and thanks to Google Play, Amazon had it on sale for $3.99 so I bought it. I have heard that it is excellent, maybe Maggie's best book so far.

This is another book on sale for Kindle and I bought it on a whim. I am not entirely sure I will like it. Though I enjoyed Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty, I haven't tried her contemporary fiction.

I got the newest book from the library so I thought I'd pick this up too since it was on sale. It isn't a direct series. The books just all have something to do with Jane Austen.

I tend to enjoy contemporary books related to Jane Austen more than historical spin-offs and this was my WoW pick a few months ago. 

As a huge fan of Downton Abbey, I have been wanting to read this book about Lady Almina, Countess Carnarvon and Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey is filmed.

I haven't read The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane but her new book sounds interesting and it is partly set on the Titanic.

Timeless by Gail Carriger

I am looking forward to reading this final book in the series. I was disappointed with Heartless but hope this book will be much better-plus it takes place in Egypt!

Hana by Lauren Oliver

This novella takes place during the same time as Delirium but gives us a little perspective of what is going on in Hana's life after her fight with Lena.

Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult

I am not really sure what this book is about but I've enjoyed most of the Jodi Picoult books I've read so I picked it up on a whim when I saw it at the library.

Bond Girl by Erin Duffy

Bond Girl seems to be a Devil Wears Prada for the financial sector. I love the cover.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

I've already finished this book and I liked it. I think I would have liked it more if I hadn't listened to the audio book.

Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb

I have been wanting to read Cathy Lamb's books for awhile and when I saw that this was available for download from the library, I decided to give Julia's Chocolates a try. It has mixed reviews on Goodreads so we'll see...
