Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant to Read But Didn't

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. There is a new subject each week and this week's topic is "Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant to Get to But Didn't".

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I still have this checked out from the library and hope to get to it soon. I had originally requested the ARC but it expired before I could read it. I know a lot of people loved it.

Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch

I loved Snow Like Ashes so I was happy to get the ARC of its sequel but I never got around to reading it last fall.

Circling the Sun by Paula McLain

I have yet to read a Paula McLain novel and this one drew me because of its setting. I have the ARC waiting on my Kindle.

Kitchens of the Great Midwest by J. Ryan Stradal

Yet another book that I have an ARC for. It received so many glowing reviews from librarians and people in the publishing world. I actually started reading it but never finished.

Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave

A lot of bloggers liked this one and I have the ARC but just didn't get to it last summer. Maybe I'll make time for it this spring or summer.

Ash & Bramble by Sarah Prineas

I love fairy tales retold and I started reading the ARC on my laptop but it expired before I could finish the book. Now I have the finished copy checked out from the library.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

My sister and one of my coworkers both highly recommended this. I'd heard good things from other librarians and reviewers too but it sounded too sad so I didn't pick it up yet.

The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson

I loved Kiss of Deception so I eagerly added my name to the hold list for The Heart of Betrayal. Unfortunately I had too many other books to read when my hold arrived so I had to return it unread. Maybe this winter I will read this so I'll be ready for the third book.

The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

I thought this sounded pretty good but for some reason I never got around to picking up a copy.

All In by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This book was released in late fall and I only got it from the library last month. I loved the other books in the series so I hope to read this soon.

  2. It's so hard to get to everything. The only book from your list that I have actually read is The Last Time We Say Goodbye, which was good, but sad. I didn't like it as much as her fantasy series though. I really want to read All the Bright Places, but never got to it as well.

  3. I'll be very curious to see your thoughts on Illuminae. And Eight Hundred grapes too- I liked that one a LOT, can't wait to see your review. Hope you enjoy all of them.

  5. I did like Kitchens of the Great Midwest and 800 Grapes. :) 800 Grapes is a quick read and not too complicated - I would recommend picking it up this summer one lazy day. :) I want to read All the Bright Things.

  6. Ash & Bramble is SO GOOD. Prineas did some interesting thematic things with that book.

Illuminae is on my list too. I'm actually seeing it on a lot of lists. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who didn't read it. (It kind of felt like it for a while.)

  7. I have All In on my list to read this year also. I am considering trying Illuminae as a new genre for me.

  10. I read Eight Hundred Grapes and there were some great character! I have Kiss of Deception to read, which is one that I bought upon release and still haven't gotten to. I hope that you are able to get to some of these this year. Happy reading!

  11. I really liked the audio of The Last Time We Say Goodbye, and Eight Hundred Grapes was good even though I had the urge to slap the main character a few times. Illuminae and Snow like Ashes I will hopefully get to soon and hmm must check out Kitchens of the Great Midwest. Lots of great reading in 2016, now all we need is more hours in the day :)
