Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading. If you'd like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.
"If Isabeau St. Croix had known it was going to be her last Christmas Eve, she would have had a third helping of plum pudding."
Blood Feud by Alyxandra Harvey
It's been centuries since Isabeau St. Croix survived the French Revolution. Now she's made her way back to the living, and she must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who turned her into a vampire and left her buried for two hundred years....That's if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, a vampire whose bite is just as sweet as the revenge she seeks.
I just started book two of the Drake Chronicles yesterday but I have a feeling that I will enjoy it more than Hearts at Stake.
LOL
ReplyDeleteLove it!
Here is my BBF :)
Oh, that's a good one! Now I'm sad that she didn't get that third helping....

I have enjoyed both books in the series so far and am looking forward to the next one in November. My Friday Memes are from Almost to Die For by Tate Hallaway. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAh, plum pudding. Great beginning, though! Hope you end up liking this book.
ReplyDeleteGreat opening :)
ReplyDeletePlum pudding? I'm not reading it yet but that reminds me of a Christmas book
ReplyDeleteI read about yesterday ("Mary's Son," by Darryl Nyznyk) which is great for not only adults but also YA readers. Lonely rich girl, thug who wants to burgle rich girl's mansion and the power of Christmas and the spirit of Christmas to turn lives around and teach them both (with the help of a mysterious man named Nicholas) the true meaning of life. It sounds like a modern take on the Christmas story.
By the way, what a GREAT teaser!
ReplyDeleteI just read this yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Hope you like it and I look forward to your review!
